What a wonderful weekend at Manor Farm Cottage. As a birthday surprise my husband treated me to a ride in a hot air balloon.It was fantastic to be able to set off from the field belonging to Manor Farm. I love the beautiful countryside around Manor Farm Cottage but to see it from the air was just simply stunning.
Today I had a wonderful walk today around the Holme Valley. Wow, what stunning views and so close to Manor Farm Cottage.
We had a wonderful day, driving over the beautiful Strines into Derbyshire. The purple heather covered the moors like a carpet. We are so lucky that Manor Farm Cottage is only 15 minutes away from such beautiful scenery. I thought I’d share my day with you… 🙂
We arrived home to Sonata, one of our very friendly Alpacas, enjoying a carrot treat! 😉

We are so lucky to live in such a pretty village like Upper Denby. Every day offers something new and exciting.
We now have a resident peahen and a peacock that have settled in the village.
How nice not to be woken up by the shrill sound of the alarm clock but by the dawn chorus, the voice of spring and early summer. I love this time of day when everything starts to ‘wake up’ and a new and exciting day begins. Today I thought I would get up and take an early morning stroll around the meadows at Manor Farm Cottage. How quiet and peaceful, just the dog and the wildlife for company. Perfect. What a wonderful start to the day. I picked these beautiful wild flowers on my walk and thought I’d share them with you.
