What could be better than a fresh cup of coffee in my favourite beaker after collecting the eggs from ‘Manor Farm Happy Hens’ for our guests to enjoy.
What an exciting day at Manor Farm
The horses and ponies were due to be re shod and our friendly and caring Farrier ‘Roger’ came along this afternoon.
Farriery is believed to have been practised ‘firstly’ in the Roman Empire so how wonderful to see the ancient craft of a Farrier at work.
Its good to see father and son working together keeping this ancient craft ‘alive’.
I thought I would share this experience with you.
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year
Best wishes from

I’ve had a super weekend. I visited the city of Lincoln which is well within easy travelling distance from Manor Farm Cottage.
I was amazed with the character and architecture Lincoln had to offer, not to mention a suberb Christmas Market selling crafts, locally sourced produce and continental stalls selling their interesting goods. I certainly enjoyed the mulled wine and Bradwurst!! and of course the’chestnuts roasting on an open fire’, absolutely delicious.
Lincoln Christmas Market is a ‘must’ for guests visiting Manor Farm Cottage.
What a wonderful weekend we have just had a Manor Farm……
Saturday evening was full of fun and festivities as we held our ‘first’ craft fair in the stables which were beautifully decorated with holly and ivy, not to mention the stunning craft stalls!!
How nice to hear the chatter of the villagers as they all assembled around the brasier in the couryard, mulled wine in one hand, home made mince pie in the other, ready to hear Christmas carols played by our local ‘Shepley Band’.
As I gazed around me on that cold, crisp evening I thought ‘what a wonderful place this is’……………
